Q.1 Why did you start training and did you have any goals of competing to begin with?
After many years of studying and trying to find the one thing to do in life, my professional life was going nowhere and I felt pretty unhappy about it.
I was in my late 20’s and I needed a change, I needed a goal and new challenge. At that time I came across Muscle & Fitness Magazine. I remember reading an article about Monica Brant and being mesmerised by her great physique.
First thought came to my mind was: I want to look like her and compete!! There was only one way to do it. The next day I signed up to a local gym where I started training towards my first figure competition.
Q.2 What is your current training schedule like? How does it differ between pre-contest and off season? Do you do much cardio work?
Offseason I train 3 times a week. For a cardio I do lots of walking, cycling, or running.
On season I’d add one more day of training with weights and more cardio. I am currently training to compete in September. My current schedule means I train 4 times a week with weights, and looks like this:-
Day 1: Chest, Triceps, Calves
Day 2: Back, Biceps, Abs
Day 3: Rest
Day 4: Shoulders, Calves
Day 5: Legs, Abs
Day 6: Off
Day 7: Off
Around 8 weeks from my show I will add some high intensity cardio.
